A little less to organise

We take care
of the practical things.

01

Local decisions

Let your guide handle the driving, route and stopping decisions while you enjoy the night. Kiruna accommodation pickup is included; check the pickup details when booking. Some nights we stay close, and others involve a longer drive. Weather can still change our plans.

02

Warmth, grip & a little light

Specialist outer clothing and hot drinks are included. We also provide crampons, walking sticks and head torches for extra grip, support and light when needed. Your guide chooses suitable places to explore on foot for the conditions and the group.

Bring warm base layers and sturdy footwear. Let us know about mobility needs before booking.

03

Photography help

Bring a phone, a camera or simply your curiosity. We help with settings and bring our own camera too. The scenery can make a photograph even on a quiet night.

The honest answers

Before you book.

Who operates Swedish Aurora’s tours?

Swedish Aurora is operated by Snow Dog Arctic Adventures, the trading name of Snowdog Arctic Adventures AB. Our Arctic Aurora Hunter is a guided minivan tour from Kiruna. Reservations are made through Snowdog’s Checkfront booking system.

Can I book a guided northern lights tour from Kiruna?

Yes. Arctic Aurora Hunter is typically 4–5 hours with up to 8 guests, warm outer clothing, hot drinks and photography help. The minimum age is 10. Check available dates and your confirmed pickup location in Snowdog’s booking system.

What if we don’t see the northern lights?

A sighting cannot be guaranteed. Snowdog’s published policy does not offer a refund for a quiet or cloudy sky. Read the current terms on the booking page before you commit. We explain the conditions honestly and adapt the evening where possible.

Will we definitely go to Abisko?

No fixed destination is promised. The route is decided around the weather, road conditions and the group. A clear nearby sky can be a better choice than a long journey.

Can we combine this with dog sledding?

Yes. Snowdog offers husky and aurora combinations, with self-drive and guide-driven sled options. Visit Snowdog’s current packages for dates, ages and prices.

Can children join the Aurora Hunter?

The minimum age is 10. Junior prices apply to ages 10–15, and adult prices from 16. It can be a long evening in cold conditions, with a late return. Contact us if you need help choosing an experience for younger children.
