Sámi people have lived in the Abisko area for thousands of years. Reindeer husbandry continues here through Gabna Sámi reindeer-herding district. Hearths, hut sites and trapping pits are traces of lives lived in this landscape.

Leave old hearths, stones and other cultural traces undisturbed. We do not present aurora folklore as a single belief shared by all Sámi people.
